Good to know
Location is everything! We are just about 1.5 miles to Baylor University. Three blocks to Magnolia. Six blocks to the new sport complex (Foster Pavillion). 1.5 miles from McLane Stadium which some of our guest that stay in this building walk to the games. We are also next door to Fable Bookstore and Cafe. Fable and the Behrens Lofts are actually a conjoining building. Our condo is located on South Fourth Street & Mary St in downtown Waco, Texas. The Behrens Lofts now occupies what was once known as the Behrens Drug Company building. The structure was completed in 1913, and was headquarters for the Behrens Drug Company. The building was constructed as a fire-proof, concrete structure with emphasis on ample working space and employee safety. As testament to its significance in Waco history, Behrens survived the 1953 Waco tornado with little damage. In 1990 the fifth, sixth and seventh floors were added as the building was converted to loft living spaces. Long term stays are welcome. STR000859-08-2022
Other Details to Note
A ramp at the back of the building makes for easy access and there are two elevators inside the building. The Coffee Machine is a Keurig Duo & we do provide pods, sweeteners, and creamer for your stay. The living room has a 65in Smart TV with streaming apps. The bedroom has a 42in Smart Roku TV with streaming apps. Families - we do have a pack 'n play. This is a downtown location. Occasionally you will hear the train two blocks away and other noises associated with a downtown area. Once entering the condo, there is a flight of stairs that leads to the bedroom, bath, kitchen and living area. The laundry room is downstairs. Silo District Trolley is free and runs every 15 minutes. The trolley’s route makes it easy to get to and from Magnolia Market, and also provides access to other popular shopping, dining and art venues in the downtown area. The "4th and Franklin" trolley stop is super close. Just exit the building, turn left on 4th St. and walk 1 block to Franklin St.
